SUMMARY:Zebulon Mayoral Candidate Forum
DESCRIPTION:Zebulon Mayoral Candidate Forum\n\nHosted by the Zebulon Woman's Club & Zebulon Chamber of Commerce\n\n\n\nThe Zebulon Woman's Club and the Zebulon Chamber of Commerce invite members of the community to join us for an evening of civic engagement and open conversation during this important election season.\n\n\n\nFor many years\, our organizations have partnered to create opportunities for citizens and candidates to connect in meaningful\, transparent ways. This year's forum comes at a pivotal time for Zebulon as the second fastest-growing municipality in one of the nation's most dynamic regions\, and with North Carolina recently ranked #1 state for business by CNBC\, our community is on the brink of tremendous opportunity and key decisions.\n\n\n\nAs the chief elected official and representative of Zebulon\, the Mayor plays a pivotal role in providing leadership\, guiding the community's vision\, and presiding over town meetings. Unlike the Town Board of Commissioners\, which collectively holds legislative authority\, the mayor often serves as the public face of the town and works to unite citizens around key local initiatives. Join us for an engaging discussion with mayoral candidates as they share their vision for Zebulon's future amid a time of rapid growth and opportunity.\n\n\n\nEvent Details\n\n Tuesday\, September 16\, 2025\n\n 7:00 PM 9:00 PM\n\n Zebulon Rotary Woman's Club\, 405 W Sycamore St\, Zebulon\n\n\n\nWe are pleased to welcome Greg Funderburg\, an experienced forum moderator and award-winning journalist\, to guide this evening's modified debate format. Questions submitted by the community will be posed by the moderator\, and candidates will also have the opportunity to ask questions of their opponents ensuring a dynamic\, engaging\, and informative discussion.\n\n\n\nThis forum will focus on the issues that matter most to Zebulon residents and provide a space to hear directly from the mayoral candidates about their priorities and vision for our town.\n\n\nModerator Spotlight: Greg Funderburg\n\n \nGreg Funderburg joined CBS 17 News as a weekend evening anchor and weekday reporter in January 2024.\n\nThe award-winning journalist comes to Raleigh after spending nearly a decade as a weekday morning/noon anchor in Chattanooga\, TN.\, helping viewers start their day. He became a viewer favorite due to his vibrant personality and lively approach to storytelling. He was voted Best of the Best TV Personality by Chattanooga Times Free Press readers and Best TV Personality in Chattanooga Business Elite's Black Excellence Awards in 2021.\n\nBefore joining the WTVC news team\, Greg was a reporter and fill-in anchor with the FOX affiliate in Greenville\, South Carolina. The veteran broadcaster has also made stops at other stations throughout the southern region\, including Columbus\, Ga.\, and Birmingham\, Ala. At age 17\, Greg started his television career as a morning host with The Abrams Broadcasting Company in Sylacauga\, Ala.\n\nAside from his civic duties in media\, Greg enjoys speaking to youth about the importance of getting an education\, setting goals\, and remaining optimistic.
