The Zebulon Downtown Arts Council is proud to launch our inaugural event: an intimate evening of world-class live jazz, craft spirits, and an atmosphere built for an unforgettable date night or night out with friends.
Taking the stage is North Carolina’s own Eric Dawson, a powerhouse saxophonist and composer. Born and raised in Kinston, North Carolina, Eric Dawson is a graduate of Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) and North Carolina Central University (NCCU). He has performed alongside legendary musicians such as Branford Marsalis, John Faddis, and Fred Wesley, who once compared him to the great Earl Bostic, and has been featured at the National Folk Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Beyond his performance career, Eric has been a formidable force in North Carolina’s arts scene through leadership and collaboration in various organizations. He has collaborated with esteemed partners, including the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park, African American Music Trail, NC Arts Council, and Wilson Arts Center, to produce a two-day festival known as The Jazz Revival Project. His expertise also earned him a spot on a panel alongside Grammy-nominated artist Dom Flemons.
Pair world-class music with small-batch spirits by Olde Raleigh Distillery, and you have the ultimate autumn night out. Don't miss out on this exciting event, whose proceeds go towards supporting the mission and vision of the Zebulon Downtown Arts Council, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
