The Steel Magnolias Garden Club’s annual plant sale is a beloved Zebulon tradition and the primary fundraiser for their community service projects. This year's event will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Zebulon Town Hall
.
.
Visitors can browse hundreds of healthy plants—including hostas, ginger lilies, curly willows, and foxgloves—gathered and potted directly from the private gardens of club members. A highlight of the sale is their unique "basket gardens," which feature beautiful mixtures of flowers and greenery in various decorative containers, complete with care instructions.
All proceeds from the sale directly support the club’s local beautification and conservation efforts, such as:
- Maintaining the Blue Star Memorial Garden at Town Hall.
- Seasonal upkeep of the Downtown Zebulon planters.
- Preservation of the Nature Trail Garden and its Pollinator and Butterfly Gardens.
- Supporting local youth gardening programs.
The club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and an official partner of the Zebulon Chamber of Commerce. For more information, you can visit the Steel Magnolias Garden Club website or contact them at (540) 424-7778
