About the Role
Delcid Erosion Control, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for erosion control, landscaping, and horizontal/site development projects. The Estimator will work closely with company leadership, project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to support successful project bidding and execution.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Develop competitive bids for commercial, residential, municipal, and government projects.
- Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Identify scope gaps, project risks, and value engineering opportunities.
- Assist with proposal preparation and bid submissions.
- Track bid opportunities, bid calendars, and estimating documentation.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and project teams to clarify project scope and pricing.
- Support project turnover by reviewing estimate assumptions with Project Managers, Director of Field Operations.
- Maintain historical cost data, unit pricing, and material pricing databases.
- Occasionally travel to project sites and pre-bid meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of estimating experience in erosion control, site development, landscaping, heavy civil, or general contracting.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed cost estimates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), HeavyBid, Procore, Sage Estimating, TraceAir or similar software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating NCDOT, municipal, county and/or state projects.
- Knowledge of erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and site development.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
