With recent discussions concerning food trucks in Downtown Zebulon, Zebulon Chamber spoke with Town of Zebulon Planning Director Matt Lower asking for an update to share with the community. We hope Mr. Lower's statement provides clarity:
"Food trucks have become a popular part of Downtown Zebulon’s business scene in recent years. As downtown continues to grow and welcome new businesses, the Planning Department recognizes the need for clearer regulations to ensure a fair, balanced, and collaborative environment for all downtown stakeholders. Town planners are currently working on potential ordinance updates, and temporary guidelines remain in place to allow food trucks to continue operating during this process. In the coming weeks, staff will engage directly with downtown businesses- including those with food truck permits- and proposed ordinance changes will be presented for public comment at the Joint Public Hearing on August 11. The goal is to support business growth while fostering a downtown environment that works for everyone."
